Weather Changes Can Trigger Migraine Attacks

Weather Changes Can Trigger Migraine Attacks

The Cause Is The Barometric Pressure Changes In Sinuses

Weather changes are related to migraine attacks. According to studies, migraine patients revealed that 30% of their attacks were related to a change in weather. The cause is the change in barometric pressure, which affects the sinus cavities. This leads to swollen sinuses and can worsen if the person has already congestion or blockage. There are other triggers for migraine such as alcohol and certain foods, which are usually avoided to prevent migraine attacks, but weather cannot be avoided or controlled. Therefore the best idea, in case of a weather change pattern, is staying hydrated and having extra sleep. Also, avoid other migraine triggers, such as bright sunlight, sun glare, extreme heat, cold or humidity, dry air, or stormy weather. More info click here.
