Researchers have found that estrogen levels could be linked to migraine in men. Previous studies have revealed that higher estrogen levels may explain the higher recurrence of migraine in women. In fact, women have 3 times the possibility of a migraine attack, compared to men. However, a recent study has also shown that estrogen is also a migraine trigger in men. It verified that estrogen levels were higher in men with an average of 3 episodes per month. Also, higher testosterone levels 24 hours before a migraine attack in men, which also showed symptoms prior to a migraine, such as a change in appetite, difficulty concentrating, and fatigue.
